Does anybody know the size of the OEM speakers for the EVO?
Please let me know!!

yup, front and rear...

 

Run a search there are many posts on speakers in the show and shine. They are "oversize" 6.5" (bigger than 6.5" but not quite 6.75"). A search will tell you which speakers fit directly or come with spacers that fit and which you will need to find/make spacers for.

 

they are 6 3/4, some of the nicer 6.5 speaker sets do have a spacer , but if you get 6.5 you will need to custom fit. there are alot of 6 3/4 speakers out . pioneer, rockford, infinity, alpine. just look.

 

The best fit would be to to buy Lancer or Evo speakers. There will be no problems with fitment. Wiring will also be a cinch since they plug in.

Failing that, any "oversize" 6 1/2" or 6 3/4 that's slim enough to fit the mounts should be okay. Check with Crutchfield, Best Buy, or any reputable car audio place. They will be able to advise on fitment.

 

I had to have my doors shaved to fit 6.5 inch speakers there was no spacer at all lol I put focal speakers all the way around back fit fine (6.5 inch) but the front 6.5 WILL NOT go in without shaving.
