93 vs 96 pump gasoline

In my opinion after trying 93 and 96, I can say that with the 96 my car runs stronger after 5000rpm.
I do not recommend any kind of fuel additive and any kind of oil additive. just put a high quality gasoline in the car and you will be fine.

Where are you getting 96 octane out of a pump? Is it leaded racing gas?

Judging by the fact that he has an Evo VII and that his name is metric, I'd say it is safe to assume he is not in the US.

And as such, the gasoline octane ratings listed above are calculated differently than they are in the US.

European 98 octane (RON) fuel appx = US 93 octane (RON+MON/2)

No it is not a race gas. I'm outside USA and use a new gasoline from Petrobras (BMW Willians Sponsor). I talked with a tech person and he told me that this gasoline meets 2005 European polution laws and that this gasoline has at least 95 and normaly 96-97pump octane and 104 RON.

RON = octane. But which is it? 95 or 104 octane?

Petrobras? You are in the Middle East somewhere? **edit** you are from Brasil?

Go to: http://www2.petrobras.com.br/portal/tecnologia.htm
Then click at: gasolinas
Then click at: Petrobras Podium

OR go directly at: http://www2.petrobras.com.br/tecnolo...ina_podium.stm

There is a graph comparing European vs USA vs Podium gasoline

You have three values:
RON
MOM
RON + MOM / 2 = pump value

The Petrobras Podium has:
RON 104
MOM 87
RON + MOM / 2 = 95.5 pump octane

Brasil uses (RON+MON)/2. Interesting.
