Have you Modified your Evo?
Yah it is a little odd sounding that I would ask this. I am just curious. Potentially 7000 Evos in the US, how many are here, and are they modded. To show I am just curious not someone trying to spy or something wierd, here are my mods. K&N Drop in Filter, DynoFlash, Bruscher Manual Boost Controller, Bruscher 2.5 DP, UR Cat, Bruscher Cat-Back (No Muffler), Greddy Intercooler. Just simple mods, just enough to void my warrenty. I found this website when I did a search. If there are only a couple hundred Evos here, I wonder where the others are.
Yeah you certainly need to consider the financial implications of modifying the car.. I've been treated very well by my dealership and they do honor my warranty even though the car is modified.. HOWEVER the car is not abused, and I have not had any major problems with the car. I'm 10k away from the end of my warranty too.. I'm not overly concerned about it, However I'm ready to take responsibility for issues of my own doing..
It is good that your dealership treats you nice. All the mistubishi dealerships closed around me. The only one that I can go to does not understand the car, and are a little rough on Evo drivers. I am 8K away from my warrenty running out. But, knocking on wood, have not had any problems with the car.
Looking at the poll, I wonder where the 04s are?
I have not seen any 04s in the south, except in the dealership. And, I have yet to see the leather seats in person.

stock, only becuase i have 2 kids under the age of 2.5 and it was hard enough convincing my wife to let me purchase one!!!!! Gotta love it stock though!!! Made minor changes like interior lights, tint, stereo, amp, gauges, nothing to do with the engine, not yet at least!
When I went to get my last oil change the tech said "have you had problems with starting?" and "have you noticed a stronger smell of gasoline?"

Well, I'll find out what the
dealer has to say about my car today.... I'm having it towed to the dealer to replace/repair wathever is frozen and caused my serpentine belt to break last week stranding me 60 miles away from home
UPDATE
The service manager at the dealer called me back. He says they were all over the car and was all enthusiatic about it, but he did say that Mitsu "would probably deny warranty because of all the aftermarket stuff"
Well, can't say I did not expect it, but he was nice about and promised to do all he could to try to get the warranty upheld.

silverEVO8, that sucks about your A/C compressor. Good luck getting it covered. To deny warrenty, they have to prove the mods caused the failure.
850 plus users of this website have looked at this thread, and 109 Evos, mostly 03s modified. That is not too many.
Also, what does stock mean? Good question. A stock Evo is one that does not have modification to improve power or handling, basically the things that can void the warrenty. I know there are some Evos with just body kits, and those are the exceptions to the rule. They are not quite stock. I am sure Mitsubishi could void something.
But the focus is power and handling.
What are others thoughts on this. Does the above sound like a good definition?
Also, keep voting folks. The above numbers of modified Evos only represents 1.26% percent of the total estimated US Evo population and the total is only 1.56%.
-Total population based on 5k to 6k in 03 and 1.7k in 04.

2 months and stock if you ignore a whole lot of carfi gear.
engine and drivetrain will stay stock. might put on bigger swaybars, and maybe someday coilovers. no point in modding the engine it's a damn long ways from the fastest thing in my garage. you can count the evos on one hand that today are capable of a faster quartermile than my sportbike and I paid $10k for it 3 years ago.
