In CO both of those tickets are just fines and are basically the same as parking tickets. You can either just pay the fines or go in to the court house and talk to them. The last time I got a no front plate ticket I was let off as long as they were comfortable that I had since installed the plate. There is no way that the rear wing ticket will hold up. This is nothing more than a PITA!

The “tell it to the judge” is just plain stupid as you will never see a judge in relation to these tickets.

Hey guys, thanks for the replys. This was obviously an a s s hole cop on a powertrip and who obviously doesnt even know the law himself. This happend in NY, Nassau county pigs department. It is a PITA that I have to go deal with this over something that is original equipment and thus legal acording to the DOT or else it would never be on the car to begin with. And no Im not the only Evo around, this is basically a huge city over here, tons of Evos and STi's around, so I dont know why stupid pigface mcpigger decided my wing was illegal and everyone elses is fine. I actually heard of this hapening to someone else in Nassau county last year for the same thing, stock evo wing ticket, I wonder if it was the same moron pig who did that too. I'll let you guys know what happens when I go to court. Hopefully it will get thrown out and I can get some kind of certificate claiming the wing is legal so I dont have to deal with this **** again!

Gee, no matter what you do this is going to cost you. Taking time off work, court costs, etc. Is there a way of getting compensation for this, after all the officer failed to do his job correctly and you are REQUIRED by the State to respond either by paying a fine or going to court. In NC I believe you pay the court costs win or lose...don't know 'bout your state.

There is no way the wing can be illegal for any reason. It's just a bullshirt ticket they gave you for harrassment purposes. The obstruction of view reason is bogus as all hell. If that was true, none of those vans or trucks without back windows would be allowed on the roads

He also saw that I had a 2 way in my center console
That's a little confusing to me, what's a two way?

You are right about saving lives, not wasting time giving fix up tickets for a stock evo wing. He should be out there looking for thieves or people causing trouble. Basically do his job right!!!Next thing he is going to tell you put a turbo in your car and that its illegal to do that as well. Dumb a** cop.

In fact, the guy you're talking about got his ticket in Nassau County also. His name is dekfu1 and here's a link to his ticket https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...chmentid=27126

I wonder if it's the same officer? Does the sig on the ticket he gave you match the one in the link? Just curious if this is the same guy who just has it out for us or what.

You actually took that crap from him? Why? You should have laughed at him, took down his badge and precinct number, gone to the station and made a report as soon as possible. Then I would have even taken it so far as to file a harrassment lawsuit on him after my charges were dropped. Hrmm although, the plate was a valid reason to pull you over....Although, in the report make sure you get every rude detail he pointed out. Atleast mention the harrassment in there.

sucks dude...cops obviously have a good purpose with their job...but sometimes you get pulled over by that kid from high school who used to get his *** beat and wants to do nothing but excircise how tough he is now because he has a gun and a badge...

when you go to court (after you get the ticket dropped), walk up to him and shake his hand and in a very serious tone say to him "Thank you very much, Sir" That'll kill him inside.

or if you want to be a serious dick about it...walk up to him in court after it's all over and say "Hey, weren't you that kid i used to beat the sh_t out of in high school?"

NYC and LI cops

Most cops are dorks. That's what attracks them to this job. They need to validate that they are not dorks if they have a position of power.

I also heard today the reason why the EVO wing is the height it is, is so it WOULD NOT be illegal. So that you may still see the necessary area when looking into the rear view mirror. The cop has no idea how much evidence you have to blow him outta the water. Most likely a green pea in the precinct. Just make sure that front license plate is back on for court and you're smooth sailin' from there.
