When I use my wiper blades in the rain, the rubber blades always skip if theres not enough water on the windshield. On the way up its fine but when coming down which I think the windows are dryer, the blades always skip. My car only has 500 miles on it. I have seen this on other cars but cant remember what is the cause? Do I need to replace my blades or does it have anything to do with my windows being too sticky? It rains alot here and its irritating

 

I had that problem before (30 miles!).... I used a very soft sandpaper on the blade and since the problem is gone. RainX help too.

 

the other thing is rubbing alchohal will sometimes soften the blade a little more but if blades sit all summer in the hot sun a lot of times they will need to be replaced that fall when the rain comes again thats just how they are...

 

I lightly sanded the blades and it got worse! I think rainX should help do lube the windows a bit

 

Rain X will help alot. Use some adhesive remover on your blades when they start doing that....something like Kent Acrysol

 

did u know under 12000 or 1 year miles you have free replacement of wiperblades as well as free adjustments for alignment, clutch, and etc...

 

Didnt know that...but I will try the alchohol thing first and then some rainx, if all else fails im headed towards the dealer...

The blades look fine, what is causing this? Just want to know incase this crap happens again.

 

My blades did that at first when the car was new but seemed to break in after a while and the sqeaking stopped.

 

The blades are dry as in if u take a dry piece of rubber and drag it accross a smooth surface (ex. basketball shoes on a gym floor) the friction causes them to vibrate and skip or screetch... Most wiper blades are "teflon" coated and if you've ever tried to wash your winshild with water after using these blades you'll notice that the water seems to bead off the section that the wiper sweeps the rest just beads up and stays. This is teflon that has been transfered to the windshild... sneeky aren't they?..?.. Don't ever buy teflon blades, get a high grade rubber like bosche or something and replace them 6-12 months depending on how often the car sits in the sun... wiping the wipers down with alcohol before use every season isn't a bad idea as this will strip the wipers of dust and grease and leave nothing but rubber... Also clean your windshilds

I bet when you take your car to the dealer for warranty work it will void your driveline warranty. Obviously everyone knows that your wiper blades give you adrenaline rush and a need for speed, therefore you raced and broke your wipers. Btw your clutch warranty and everything else is also voided because of elevated wiper abuse. /sarcasm
