Thumbs up PIAA Super Silicone Wipers - Initial Review

I just installed a full set of PIAA Super Silicone blades this morning before driving to work, and here's my initial impression:

* Blades squeegee water off windshield much better, leaves less water haze on windshield

* Used wiper fluid to get my windshield clean, and then ran them dry, wipers were silent. Gets rid of that annoying chatter when there is a light drizzle and you have wipers on slowest intermittent setting, but there isn't enough precip to keep wipers from grating on your nerves.

* Rear blade actually gets the back window clean, which the stock blade never did even from day one

They come with window treatment wipes, which are similar to a Rain-X treatment, which I haven't had a chance to try yet, will update when we get some rain.

The set of 3 cost me about $75 shipped, so they're definitely pricey, but I'm a freak about clean glass, so for me it's worth it. Oh, they have "PIAA" printed on them so you can impress all your friends.

I've had these for awhile now as well and they're definitely worth the money. I got mine from autothing.com

Hmm... pretty interesting. How long will it keep coating the windshield?

The documentation that came with the PIAA blades didn't mention how long the coating will last. Maybe someone who's had them longer could chime in.

Each blade on the Evo is a different size:

Front Drivers: 24"

Front Passenger: 18"

Rear: 17"

The "Wing" is just an attached plastic doo-dad that is supposed to help prevent the drivers side blade from lifting off the windshield at speed.

I'll see if there's a digital camera in the building to get some pics.

on my s-10, i had them on for almost 2 years, they still worked perfectly but the paint was a little faded after 2 years so i replaced them w/ another set. on my gf accord, i just switched to the piaa's- ironicaly, the accord and the evo share the same front wiper sizes. on my evo?, well i'll wait a few months to actually get some use out of the originals before i switch.
FYI- those wipes are supposed to be used BEFORE you install blades. they get all the gunk and dirt off your window. after instalation, run the blades for about 5 minutes before going out. the coating ladts as long as you have the blades cause the blades are silicon, and rub a little on w/ each pass.

My front windshield is cracked from port to starboard, so I'm waiting until I get it replaced sometime in the next week to do the treatment.

Here's some pictures from a pretty cheap digital camera:
