It's funny that my stock Evo trapped almost 10mph faster than their test...

 

Pick a favorite magazine. The best time possible may be in one and then a really slow time wil be in another. All I know is I can Spank most cars off the line. I could see average launch being in the low 5 second range. Motrortrend and Road and Track are good. Think I saw the 4.4 0-60 in one of them. The thing is that the quarter mile speed and et seem way off. How you get 13.2 at only 99-100mph? Seems like a 13.8 at 99-100 makes more sense and only getting around 100mph strange cause the third and fourth gears are still strong.
They must have let off early or shifted wrong.

 

From what I heard, Car and Driver or Motor trend actually calculates the variables to come up with the time that the car could run in a perfect ideal environment and conditions.

I forgot who does it, but they sometimes the times that you see in the magazines aren't the times that they actually run.

I wouldn't be suprised if they don't know how to launch an awd cars, since some journalists are just used to the FWD and RWD.

hahahaha! sorry i couldnt resist. magazines suck. if its not a BMW or have 100 cupholders and as smooth as glass, the car is crap. come on guys, you should all know that by now

 

guys, 0-60's don't matter anyway. You could beat a car to 60 because he has to spend time shifting into third. Then he will catch up when you have to shift to third at 63. what matters is how well you drive. 0-60 is an American thing. Don't let these tests affect your opinion of the evo's speed. You guys KNOW its FAST.
