How much did you spend on your 30,000 mile service?

Dealer called me today and said that the 30,000 mile service, which includes an oil change, tire rotation, performance tune-up, and cooling system service, will cost me around $600. It seems a little stiff. Any comments? Experiences?

My friend who is a Mitsubishi Tech did my 30k service on the side for $200. The dealership wanted $500 for mine, I said no way.

$600..."performance tune" your car. Hmmm...

Oil Change by yourself. $20 for oil $5 for filter
Tire Rotation: FREEEEEEE. It's an easy DIY
Cooling system service. I thought we don't have a cooling system. Well, an A/C counts.
Performance tune up - just get a flash by any tuners. $400.

So you can save your over $150 by getting a performance tune by a tuner...LOLz...Mitsu is ripping people off.

Get back to me in 2-3 years, then I'll know how much the 30.000 mile service is. The 30,000 mile/30 month service should be free anyway. All my maintenence is free.

ROAD TEST is just another phrase for "drive the **** out of the customer's car when he/she isn't there".

I took my car in for a rattling door, and it came back with the boost memory reading 1.5kg/cm2 after I had just reset it. I'm not ever going back to that dealer for service!

All I can say is thanks man. Keeping Mitsubishi a float for a bit longer. =) But yea that sucks. You can change your own plugs $10, look at your own filter- free and replace if needed, look at battery terminals-free. They're just looking for corrosion and they can spray and wipe it clean. Adjust drive belts? They should replace them. Adjust idle- thats like a screwdriver on the throttle body and only if you have idle probs. Do you really think they are going to mess with your timing. Its already pre-programmed by the ecu. They're not going to touch that. If they plug a scanner to the OBDII and it reflashes your ecu or something than fine but If they make a change to it, its like modding your car and then they can say your warranty is voided. hehe. Sounds to me you could have got everything done yourself for like $100 and that includes taking your car to a 10min oil change and having them do the radiator flush and oil change. Hell I dunno, I do know I would nt pay that for a 30k service.

Inspect all primary and secondary wires= just looked at them

distributor cap We have coil packs not a distributor cap

Inspect air filter= most likely put one in

battery terminals= just looked at them again

Adjust engine drive belts= We only have one drive belt and it has a automatic tensioner

Idle speed and engine timing is both controlled by the ECU.

I work at a performance/repair shop so in my book you got ripped. So basicly you paid $600 for a oil change, air filter, tire rotation and a coolent flush or it was probably a drain and fill. Not to mension he probably beat your car on a test drive.

Are they changing the transmission, transfer case, differential fluids, and bleed the breaks for you? 30,000 mile service should include those if you follow the service guide. I did the 30,000 mile service myself, not very difficult. Save yourself some money next time and do it yourself.

what kind of cheap *** oil do you put in your car?

$588 is what mitsu quoted me for the 30k service but the 60k service is 1600 bucks!!!

Also your warrentee will be voided if you don't get this service done but for those of you who already voided your warrentee it doesn't matter

I think not...

The warranty was voided when you bought the car anyways...
