How many of you guys are running +450whp on stock internals?

Hello guys,

I'm starting my buildup and I'm shooting for atleast 450whp on stock internals. I would like to know how many of you guys are running this kind of power without any problems and DRIVING HARD. I'm not planning on DD my Evo, and I don't WOT my car everytime I use it. However, I want to know if its posible to run this kind of power without worrying about blowing the engine.

Does it have alot to do with the tune as far as how much power the stock internals will take?

Tuning and mods for sure. Nice thing with the larger framed turbos is you can keep the TQ low to keep the factory rods happy while being able to ring it out up top if valvetrain is up to snuff

my guess is that for every blown 450 whp+ stock block motor, another can be found that's holding up fine. key factors are probably limiting tq to 400 ft-lbs and running a conservative tune.

Thanks alot for the helpful info. However, I started this thread because I wanted to know how many people ACTUALLY run their evos on stock internals with this kind of power. Many of us can say "well, I've heard." or "My buddy..." but not many say I DO have 450 on stock internals :)

Thanks alot for the info guys, guess I just have to watch out for the TQ {thumbup}

Good to know, guess the limit would be the stock clutch then huh? lol

i have 480 hp and 430 tq on my stock block with hks272 cams. Ive autocrossed and ran it at the drag strip about 50 times and have done alot of hwy pulls on closed highways of course. Its been good for this long. But its a weekend only car and it may decide to give up next time out. But i will be upgrading to a 3586 soon and will be giving her even more.

^1st of all what highway do you know thats closed off for your enjoyment? lol. I run my 455hp and 400tq car as a daily driver and push it every weekend and its been holding up fine for over a 2 years now. I have 78k miles on that motor also. As long as you keep up with the maintenance, you'll be okay. The more you abuse it, the worse off you are. I only abuse it on the weekends though.

I was being a smart ass. Lol
