Authority CF rear bumper protector question
Ok i have a question.
How did you guys get your carbon fiber rear bumper piece that goes over the tailpipe to fit so flush and nice like i see in all the pictures. I have the authority CF piece and i can't get it to stick to the bumper. If i stick it with the adhesive it'll stay for a little while but the adhesive gets hot and when i check the piece it is about to fall off...and when i use the screws....there is always a large gap between the bumper and the carbon fiber.....anyone have any advice???
any methods for installing that i am overlooking?

Its kind of hard to do. You have to use screws and adhesive tape to get it too look right. You need to clean the surface before installing the adhesive tape. I suggest not using the cheap tape that comes with it. Get some 3M super adhesive emblem/moulding tape. It has a red release paper on it. When it sticks, and adheres its not coming off. I used 3M wax remover in can from Wal Mart to prepare the surface for the adhesive tape. This is important.
The trick to getting mine to fit flush, was to spread the back part of the CF cover where the bolts go. Stretch it to the point were it fits the back of the tunnel perfect. This will cause the front of the cover where it hits the bumper to pull back in towards the bumper. You kind of have to spread it out and push it to the bumper at the same time. With it in this position mark the holes to be drilled. It may help to have someone push the cover to the bumper while you spread the back of it to make it fit the tunnel. It is somewhat hard to put into words. But I hope you can get the drift of what I am trying to say.
Good luck.
