Just installed Autometer Nexus gauges..Here is what i think.....

Install was quite easy. These gauges differ from the Defi's in how you controll them. The Autometer has a small lighted hand held remote used to adjust your peeks and warnings ect. No hunting for a place for a large controller. The autometers controller hides out of the way. Well, what do they look like??? AMAZING!!!! Its sunny in AZ and i can see them fine. On certain colors, its a little harder. I thought the price was a little high for the boost gauge untill i opened the box. Amazing. This boost gauge comes with the EXACT same sending unit my UTEC uses for MAP reading. Yep, its a GM 3 bar sensor!!! Big square plastic block. Hell my E-01 came with cheasy little small sender. O.K. so there is bling involved, what about accuracy??? Thats the only thing that matters right?? DEAD NUTZ!!! as compared to my NOSHOK test gauge. Well there you go. I think the product is accurate and easy to install. Top notch sender. And bling to boot. Only wish they were 60mm instead of 52. No big deal. Then when the next gauge gets here it just plugs into the other gauge. Very nice set-up. I still cant get over them supplying a GM 3bar sensor!!!

That sounds great but I'm curious how these hook up and read boost, EGT and fuel pressure. All of the guages plug into each other and into the control module. So what does the control module plug into? I haven't seen a how to on this install to answer my question.

The controll unit has about 8 seperate plug ins for each individual sending unit. Then one plug in for the gauges. The gauges are daisy chained off of each other.

Nice, this is the first review I've heard that had some reference to accuracy.. Did you piggyback the wiring off the UTEC's map sensor so you don't need two sensors?

ya know.. I have no idea.. I would assume it would work, but I have no idea how much signal loss there would be and if it would affect things..

I also installed these gauges, but cannot get it to work.

Where did you tap the Red and yellow wires from the control unit?

My gauge is working in the ACC position, but when I start the engine the remote malfunction blinks and says it cannot find the gauge.

Well, my problem is solved. It was a faulty battery. The system is very sensitive. If the power goes down during cranking, the gauge shows error. Here's some pics of the guage installed. AMAZING QUALITY!! And accurate as anything I have seen! Pictures don't do justice, you have to see it to get the feel of it!

P.M. me if anyone needs a how-to on this one.

I have read about alot of problems with these guages. Any problems yet?
I heard the needle gets stuck etc.

I did a search under Nexus to see what people have to say and nothing but problems but most of the posts are old. Wondering if the issues have been fixed.

Yep, I also had problems with mine. The needle would sometimes get stuck. I sent the Sensor module to Autometer and they replaced the module for me free of cost. Didnt ask anything. I guess the new autometer nexus gauges had some technical problems. But they told me that they updated their software and the glitch should be fixed by now. Still waiting for my module to reach me. *fingers crossed*
