Aftermarket turbo install??
There is no specific thread on EVOm but you can search on the WEB. Installing a turbo is installing a turbo. You can look for the following though as I have installed more than 10 kits so far.
1- always crank the car up after installing the turbo. You want oil to go in the turbo before you turn on the car.
2- Don’t over torque bolts and studs as they might snap (use trq wrench) I don’t anymore but I did for the first couple times.
3- when installing a turbo you will always face one of the following so don’t panic, Air leak, coolant leak or oil leak and you might have all at once.
Again you will have a leak if you are doing it for the first time so take a step back and fix the problem. DO NOT rush take your sweet time.
4- Try not to have greasy hands (stay clean) You don’t want to make a mess as you want to keep everything a s clean as possible because when you start the car you will have massive smoke from the manifold, turbo and DP so you don’t want to make it worse.
5- MOVE you radiator, many people don’t move their radiator and end up making a hole in it or damaging it. Do yourself a favor and move the freaking 2 bolts on top its that easy.
6-Use new fresh gaskets and don’t be cheap.
Good luck and you can pm me for help.
I set a record of 1.5 hr of installing and removing the turbo on my EVO with the radiator
