Question How to die / dye your carpet

i currently have grey carpet in my lancer es i was wandering how i could dye and or die my carpet black does anyone know how to do this? i need to know asap because im squished for time between now and my first show of the summer (june 18th) and i have a bunch of things to do before then if anyone knows could you please post thank you

3 things.. 1 buy a carpet, 2 find an upholstry shop and have them dye it, 3 i have done this, use fabric dye in a spray can.. dye not paint, find it in almost any parts store.. dye. use very light coats till u have the color u want...

is it odorless or will it leave me high while driving the car (aerosol) lol? how many cans did you use? and who manufactured this spray can die? is it holding up good? do u have pics?

sorry gone for awhile.. take the carpet out.. its an easy job.. dont do it in the car since its areosol.. my big pics arent back up yet so here is another pic of my last job.. i cant remember the name but i got it at a-a auto.. i think there is one in philly.. but use light coats or the carpet will become hard.. its a dye not paint.. the stuff is so good im going to do my seats in it.. ill get the name of it tommorow.. my job wasnt the greatest cause i was in a hurry so you can see the white dye i used as a base..

Just buy new carpet, that carpet is cheap...

yo farmer thats preety hot i like that lil idea u had there .... i dont know much about gettin the carpet out though anyone wanna lend me a hand im right by Philly lol

its easy take out the seats center console there are plenty of right ups on here to show you how, seat belt bolts and kick panels.. i can do the job i 25 min. they made our cars very easy to dismantle..

u can get the carpet dye from walmart also. you can get carpet from Lowes or Home Depot. Just pick out what u want. The dye works pretty good. a friend of mine dyed his floor mats blue. Looks pretty tight. You just need to put a lot of time and effort into it casue it takes time for the carpet to dry so u can put another coat on. If u do do it in your car mask everthing.

bringing a thread back from the dead.

But can a carpet be dyed any color?

to go from a black/grey to a light blue or something?


Does dye work the same as painting walls for example, where u use a white dye (like primer) to cover up the dark color and then dye whatever color.

or can u go directly from the black to the light desired color?
