checking for boost leak

This is probably easier than I am thinking but could someone explain how to check for boost leaks? Any help would be great.

Take of the intake pipe to the turbo. Plug up the turbo housing and introduce air pressure into the turbo. This is normally done with a boost leak test kit. It plugs up the turbo and has a air valve to allow you to introduce air into the system. After that, you listen and look for leaks.

Go to the hardware store and make it. Do a search, Get a PVC end cap, a rubber joint connection (one end fits over the Turbo the other end over PVC end cap) hose clams, and tire inflation valve. put it all together and inflate.

Take out the space after garage.

It is about 2/3 of the way down.
