I am kinda in the process of fixing mine right now. it looks like the screw fell out of the motor on mine. i found it down in the passenger c pillar when i was removing it. so far so good i just broke one of the clips in the back and im kinda nervous about how flexable the headliner is. its like made out of paper mache, i dunno wish me luck. later

Great write-up and thanks...my sunroof failed and, yep, screws holding the motor in place were almost out for 2 of them.

Already did this 6 months ago, now the sunroof won't do anything.

Checked all fuses and they are good. Guess it's time to pull it all apart again.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

I was driving and had my sunroof completely open. I was on the phone and couldn't hear so I decided to close it. I was holding the button to close it, and it stopped half way. It wouldn't go any further. So I re-opened it, then tried to close it again.

Now it only moves forward like 1-2" at a time... Until it's closed. And once it's closed you can't tilt it up unless you try and close it more.

Does anyone know what might have happened? Did the track come un-synced? Anyone else had this happen at all?

When my awsome wife bought mine for my B-Day (used) it was doing same thing, the nice gentleman (private dealer) that sold the car to us took it to the local mitsu dealer and $350.00 later (his cost) it was repaired. In listening to the coversation between dealer and service it was something with the sunroof motor and the little computer communicating. But the whole next day after working properly from dealer was again working the same as before. I called the dealership and discussed it with the technician who worked on it he told me the computer needed to relearn the motor revolutions and in a day or two it should be fine. Do not know if he was blowing smoke up my @#% but on the second day it was working properly. Has yours been worked on recently by someone?

Nope hasn't been touched.

Maybe I'll unplug the battery for 5 min and see if it can relearn what's going on.

$350 sounds pretty steep to replace the motor. So far I've heard 90->175. For 350 I can live with it

I am just glad I had the private dealer add that in the contract that he was responsible for getting it repaired when my wife purchased it for me. 350 out of my pocket is not a bad hit but heck I never really open it all the way I just tilt it.

Before you fixed this... what were the symptoms? Was it only going in part way? Was it not even moving?
