DC Sports 2 in 1 Downpipe and Cat. delete install notes
I just installed the DC sports combination downpipe and catalytic converter delete. Here are some notes if you are considering buying this item.
Look:
The product says its made out of stainless steel. This maybe be true but it looks outwardly like just plain steel. It is not polished. However if you were into that, I think it would polish up pretty well. Welds are excellent. It a one piece mandrel bent tube with a welded joint at the 90 degree bend where the IC downpipe turns toward the exhaust.
Fitment:
I don't know how this would match up with a stock exhaust but the whole reason I got this pipe is that it is a full 3" end to end. It would only make sense to mate this to a 3" cat back exhaust. In my install the downpipe/cat delete mated to a 3" Magnaflow exhaust. Fitment was excellent. It did require me to loosen up a spring clamp thingy to let me rotate the rear exhaust pipe a few degrees to match up the holes. Not a big deal though. This pipe DOES clear the stabilizer bars.
Only real PITA is that the bolts they supply didn't fit. It required me getting out my dremel and shaving the heads of the bolts. Another fitment item is that the driver side hanger is too close to the hanger on the body and makes getting the passenger side rubber grommet difficult to get in place. I am still not happy with this item but a few whacks with my dead blow hammer and the problem should be resolved.
Price: I paid $245 for this item which I think is pretty good considering its got both a 3" downpipe and a cat delete all in one.
Sound:
I really didn't expect that the sound from this item would be that different given that I previously had a high flow cat and a 3" downpipe (that didnt clear the stabilizer bars). However I was surprised to find out the sound did change. In normal driving up to about 4K RPM the sound is similar to my old pipes. However if I go ***** out at wide open throttle, about 4k the exhaust howls like a screaming banshee and frankly it sounds bad assssss. Grin factor is high.
Hope this helps you make a decision if you are considering this item.

what problem?
There are two fixes. One is electronic, ie the Perrin O2 simulator. The other is mechanical ie. the anti foul spark plug caps.
I uses the mechanical one. Its so cheap that if it stops working I am only out like $2.00.
I suggest using the SEARCH button for a multitude of data on this subject
no problemo here

Anti-fouler here too. The DC sports downpipe is a nice piece in my opinion....Not because they hook me up, but because of the price and the quality. I know what you mean about that hanger....I need to whack mine as I heard it hit ONE time
Good review.

Watch out that things a warranty voider ( I know that’s not a word but it sounds cool), make sure you take it off before every service or they'll flag your car. Other then that it’s the Shiite. Oh Tramaceveviii check out www.amstuning.com or call 1888-AMS-1788 if you want one. I picked mine up from them back in August for $200 bucks plus it clears my Cusco bars (type l &ll) without using any washers (and my cars an 05).

I installed mine yesterday and am very happy with my purchase. Got mine from Matt @ *** imports, great guy i would suggest doing business with him if your looking for a place to get one of these. Anyways, fitment was great, a little tight in some spots, but nothing you wouldn't expect when increasing pipe diameter by 33%. Sound is close to the same at idel and lower rpm, but like stated when you get on it, you hear it! I'm not sure if my mind is playing tricks on me or not, but it does seem to spool up faster and perhaps between that and the added volume it makes me believe that there were noticeable gains, in either case I am very happy with my purchase. So hello airflow, goodbye warranty.
Does anyone have an honest DBA level difference from what they had previously to this cruising?
I've got an HKS DP and helix hi-flow that I'm debating getting rid of for this DP/CD. My only concern is that going catless is going to make it much louder than it already is and get unwanted attention. I don't think it will be an issue since my catback has a large resonator and should help keep it quiet.
I'm not worried about noise at WOT (it's already reasonably loud there) but, cruising RPM and idle. I see the first post says it really isn't any different until 4000RPM which should not be an issue for putting around town. Does everyone agree with the thread starters statement?

I have been using this downpipe for over two years now and I am fairly certain it is not all stainless steel. The pipe is holding up well. Very minor oxidation. The flange to the catback, however, is completely covered in rust. Pretty disappointing.
