Timing Belt How to...

From Volunteer and Cajun Power.

I know many people have been waiting for us to post this. Sorry about the delay.
Here you go...

It took some resizing but I think I can get it in here. I posted the how to followed by the manual for specs. This covers the balance shaft too.

(Moderators- If I can email you a zip that is big and you can post I would be glad to do so.)

*****NOTE - This was VERY hard to do with the engine in the car. It took two people that work on their EVOs 4-5 hours for the first and 3-4 for the second. We had air-tools, and MANY specialty tools. This is not a vice grip and tie wrap job. You have to know what you are doing. If not, pay the $200 and let someone else do it.*****

That is one job I will definitely let the dealership handle. Too much aggravation for general maintenance. Usually for that much of headache I expect around 30-40hp.

Good write up.

Thanks. I Wish you were around here when it was time to do my clutch, sounds like you got it down. My spelling is off, but I wasn't focusing much on that as much as the content.

Just one simple comment... I wonder if anyone would happen to know of a PDF editor that would allow for someone to save what they needed. When looking at your pdf's they are a bit difficult to read so just thought I'd bring that up.

I also wanted to know mitsu special which tools were a must? The obvious one would have the auto tensioner tool but I see the shop man. requires others also.
