i love the indash setup you did with the clock! that is b!tchn! as for the rear mount, not sure if that's the way i would do it. but i can't think of a better way to hide the main unit. when, i do, i'll be ordering a unit!

nice job! and thanks for the great idea!

LOL. Well, remember I did buy an Evo after you. That must say something about who was cool first.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

I don't need to hide it but I figured if the car is parked in a public lot and someone walks by, they won't break in to steal the V1 if they don't see it.

looks clean, but how's the range. Don't you get better range, the higher it is up on the windshield. My friend has it right next to his rear view mirror in his m3, he just wired it into the power source so he doesn't have the cord hanging down. He did it for the cleaner look and supposed better range.

I see, great idea. I didn't know if your state said it was illegal to have or whatnot.

Why did you cut the hats? Radar can see through glass and plastic but not cotton? clean install though.

You are correct, radar passes through cotton (hat material) fine. But I think the hole helps with laser reception.

Range for the Radar/Laser has been fantastic.

Laser detection is an oxymoron. There is very little stray signal and limited range. If it did trigger it would be a pull over indicator because before you heard a chirp the Laser gun would hve a speed reading. Laser isn't always on like many radar guns, must be used while stationary and within approx 300 ft for accurate targeting. A Laser jammer is good defense and legal.

I think you mean laser warning is an oxymoron. But you are correct. There is very little if any warning with laser. Police laser is only about 4 feet wide at 1,000 feet.

Any thoughts on actually using the "set" button for muting the remote display since it is in the approximate same area as the "set" button?

A friend of mine does a similar install. He puts the display in the rearview mirror and the detector in a rear headrest. It looks factory.
