Steering Column Cover Removal
Steering Column Cover Removal
I searched and didn't come up with much on this subject. I have a gauge to install in a pod that I need to screw into the top of the steering column cover. I want to take the cover off first so I don't drill or screw into anything underneath.
The only instructions I found said to remove one screw underneath on the right side. It looks like it's in 2 pieces, but I really only need to take the top 1/2 off not the bottom.

Just take the 3 screws out of the bottom. 2 are located near the lever for the column height adjust. 3rd is in the back right. After you take them out, there's some integrated clips at the seem where the two halves come together. Just takes a bit of squeezing/prying with a cloth covered small flat blade screwdriver. Nothing is attached to the top half, and the bottom will stay more or less in place on the column. Should take you all of 5 min. to get the tools and get the cover off.
