Fuel Pump Install

Hello all, I'm goign to get a Walbro 255 installed and the tuner place I'm going to is charging me $100 for the pump and $170 to install it, total: $270. Does that seem like a lot of scratch just to install it?

thanx

Not only that, but you're getting raped, too.

Mitsu uses "book time" to bill for the same job, and I think they book it at 1.5 hours, which is about $150. Both places are ripping you off.

Check the "How to" forum here. There's a very easy install guide there. Also check Mach V Motorsports' website, there is a good tutorial on there as well.

It's an easy install if you take your time. Even taking your time, it will only take 45 minutes max.

It is not hard just take your time and dont be too forceful. If you break on of them barbs you screwed and it takes about 30-1hr.

I am going to be installing one of these pumps in a few days and am wondering what is the best way to get the retainer ring off? I am guessing that you have to use a small flat blade screwdriver to pry it off?

Thanks

The price of the pump is pretty good, but $170 to install?!?!?!? What do they charge, $500/ hr.?

Just use the above write ups. I used these and had no problems. I can now do this job in a mater of 30 min. Just get your tank as empty as possible. that way you have less of a chance of getting any in your car. Good luck man.

Unfortunatly the write up with the instructions on how to remove the sock's retaining ring has a bad link to the picture. If anyone has a picture of this process it would help. Otherwise I will just have to wait until I start the installation to get the whole picture. Thanks for the replies.
