Bottom of bov should be facing the intake tube closest to the throttle body. Output of the bov ,(side)should be vta or more likely recirc to the intake closest to the turbo inlet.basically, your bov top should be pointing towards the passenger side of the engine compartment.

Yup backwards...

Furthermore taking out a spring on a GReddy is a ricer mod that will screw up your idle and AFR as it leaks wide open at idle with only one spring.

i looked @ it, there is no way it could be on backwards. it is already recirculating back into the intake piping. the hose from the bov to the pipe isn't long enough to relocate it. are you saying that i should mount the bov to the intake tubing, and have the hose somehow magically connect to the tube coming from the turbo?

just switch it around, put the end that's in your intake pipe now into the hose off of the intercooler pipe, and vice versa. the discharge opening should go into the intake before the turbo the flange part should be in the small, rubber hose off the IC pipe. put both springs in and enjoy! i tried the single spring mod and it sucks, the only reason you don't leak is because it's backwards, so your not blowing off at all!

Believe me it's backwards, unless your own pics are out of date.

This is what my type s looks like installed.

on a side note, i am really excited on how this post turns out since i am not home and used my phone to take the pic, resize the pic, and upload the pic. So if it sucks, let me know or else i will see for myself when i get home.

anyway, you can see how the top of the BOV is facing sideways and not straight up. I don't know how you could have problems w/ making the blowoff valve work this way, it's like an L, and could go either way.

edit: came home and linked the pic to the post.

MY GOD! IT'S WONDERFUL! I switched it around, put the spring back in, and no more flutter, the car drives as smooth as a.......car.... and it's completely silent.. As a note though, it's too quiet now. actually, it's silent. i could use a little rice VTA. But I know what it'll do to the car w/o proper tuning, so imna leave it as is for the time being.

Well I went back to he performance shop that did the work and complained. They said that they sometimes install the bov backwards to make the car hold boost better. That's a whole other story. They took the car in the next day, (Today, as I had work yesterday) threw it on the dyno, tuned it for 2+ hours free of charge, and installled a mbc to stabilize my boost spiking. Of course I payed for the mbc, but I really appreciate Mynes willingness to work with my issue. So i'm back to a clean state w/ them again.

That's bull****. Imagine going to Forge Motorsports and them installing an RS valve on backwards. It just wouldn't happen.

They screwed it up and they were trying to cover their ***. At least they tuned it.

Last guy I know that flipped the BOV around, blew out a headgasket and a freeze plug out of the block due to overboost and detonation pressure.

True, I'm with you on that one, however they now have an ASE Certified mechanic on staff, for reasons like this. The Installs I had done before happened when the regular mechanic was out. Someone else with the shop did it
