MBC Tie-In Point
MBC Tie-In Point
Guys,
For my Boost Bleed-Off valve boost controler I simply Cut the line going from the stock TEE that connects to the Wastegate and put the NEW TEE there up to my Bleed valve...
Correct???

That was a dumb question on my part.
The most popular aftermarket MBCs used are a ball -n- seat type.
There is another way to hook up a MBC other than the diagrams shown.
( I've been trying to find the diagram )
This would connect one side of the MBC directly to the turbo nipple.

Here's a link to both diagrams.

Spec'd, and anyone else who might chime in, rather than do all that, a Bleeder
Valve Simply 'Bleeds Off' the Signal to either the Wastegate, or the Wastegate Actuator, depening on where you Splice your Tee-in, and of course how much you have the Valve Open(Closed should be Stock Boost).....So...
Now that I have the Air-Box out, could I Tee-Into the Wastegate Actuator Line....
Will that Work(to Bleed-Off the signal to the Wastegate)?????????? Thats a HELL of a lot easier than removing the Radiator fan to access the Wastegate Hose....

so you want to bleed the wastegate line after the stock solenoid? i tried this but my valve ended up closed in order to keep 5th from going 22+ psi. i was also using ecuflash to try to control it but i gave up.
i now use a hallman and its great.

11SECEVO ,
You can do that but it might be inconsistant. ( I think )
One of the side effects mentioned by ashumo
There are a couple of boost restrictor pills in those hoses that regulate
the boost control in correlation with the factory ECU.
To install your MBC, you should only have to remove the airbox
and intake tube, inorder to get to all the boost lines.
Hallman MBCs are cheap and work very well.
I went a different route and prefer the Xede piggyback to control
my boost. ( That's another story )

****RESULTS***
Well after TWO days of Testing on my local 'Test Track', and about a dozen 1/4 mile blasts it looks like 'Ashumo' above was correct, in order to get SOLID 20Lbs. of boost during a pass(1/4mile), I need to keep the valve ALL THE WAY OPENED, but..heres the boost during a pass:
1st = 21PSI (4800-7000)
2nd = 19-20PSI (4900-7000)
3rd = 19PSI (4900-7000)
4th = 19-18PSI (5000-7000)
But on the Highway Forget it..it'll spike to ~24PSI and settle back to 22PSI in fifth up to about 5800rpm (didn't have the Conjones to go any faster than that), so with a 93+Zylene mix (~97 Octane) it looks like a GREAT Track only mod!!!
We'll find out for SURE when i hit Maple Grove in a few weeks!!
