EVO 9 MR HID ballast/ bulb install help..

A quick overview of what i am trying to accomplish
I have an EVO 9 GSR...I bought EVO9 MR HID Bulbs and Ballasts

The bumper is off and the driverside headlamp is out
This is what I have

I am no expert on HID's/ lights and have been searching on here for the past Hour with little results

Problems:
#1 I am at a point where, as u can tell by the pics, the bulb connector doesnt connect into the lamp housing on the headlight (low beam).

#2 I have no idea where to plug the power to the ballast at...since the connector doesnt fit on any power connector coming from the wiring harness in the engine bay.

#3 Theres a connector on the ballast itself which looks to be a ground wire but also looks to be a spot to plug some thing else in

I need some help and would appericate any thoughts/ experience others can provide for me

Thanx in advance

-Jarrod

u need the HID projector housings also besides bulbs and ballast. the regular gsr headlights only fit the 9006 bulb, not the d2s hid bulb.

I just did this conversion 2 weeks ago, You need HID headlights to start with. I wired up Relays and extra 20amp fuses to protect the stock wiring harness also. Your going to have to wire the 9006 contector into the new HID Harness on the headlight itself This tread should help you out alot, He didnt use a relay like HID planet explainsed to use but it still helps you out alot. If you need a relay i have one extra i could sell you and draw up the diagram so you know were to connect everything... Also Soldering is a must i would say to. PM me if u have any question i would love to help.

Would i be better off with a retro kit? What does the OEM HID kit offer opposed to a retro kit....?

If you want to retrofit projectors in, then you need to open the housings up and custom mount HID projectors

The OEM HID lights already have the HID projectors

They both will have similar output, well depending on which projectors you use (if you retrofit)

yeah thats really the easiest way to go. The only think you need is a wiring harness to power those ballasts
