Detailed Defi-Link Boost & Oil Pressure / Temp Directions

I now have *detailed* and complete directions for defi-link boost and oil pressure / temp install posted on my web site with plenty of pics. I have additional directions for the glovebox removal and a-pillars as you may need to do these also.

http://www.evolution-8.com/howto.php

If anyone has questions or pictures that you would like to see that I do not already have posted, let me know and I will see what I can do.

I have a problem in that my oil pressure warning buzzer runs constantly if I have the car off and want to listen to the radio. Anyone have a fix for this?

Please take note that Defi Gagues that are non-imperial (metric or SI) must use BSPT Adaptors, as this is the correct thread pitch. NPT Adaptors are for Imperial Defi Gagues only. Lowes sells BSPT Adaptors in the plumbing sections, I'll post the part numbers later. While 42 designs sells the adaptors, the Lowes pluming hardware actually fits more flush and leaves a more clearance between the sensors and the axle. I'll take some pictures and post those too.

I figured I would use this thread and hope someone who has Defi BF gauges chimes in.

I have the Defi BF gauges; boost, water temp and oil pressure. I spliced into the radio harness using the following method:

Red Red w/ Black Stipe Constant Volt.
Orange Blue w/ Yellow Stripe Ignition On
White Green w/ White Strip Illumination
Black Bolt near radio Ground

When the key is in the "ON" position the lights on the Defi control unit come on. When I start the car or turn on the running lights, I only get lights on the control unit and the gauges do not light up or turn on.

I have the gauges daisy chaned and then hooked up to port 1. I tried port 2 for the gauges as well and nothing for the guages.

Is the something I am missing? I want to make sure the unit turns on and I have power before I start hookin up the sensors.

I already have the water temp sensor on the upper radiator filler neck, just not hooked up.

Anyone have any insight?

Anyone?

I don't have any of the sensors plugged into the control unit, the gauges will at least power on right or since I have three gauges, will I have to plug in all 3 before they at least power on?

Is there any other method to tap a illumination source besides the radio harness?

Awesome Write up and Pics.... I can wait to install my DEFIs as soon as my 42 Draft Design Adapters come in. I relocated the Radio early and everyone looks and wonders what happened to my Dash...hahaha

Which Pillar Pod is that? I have the JSCSpeed Panel for the Center mount but I kinda like the look for the Pillar Gauges.
