triple gauge panels and bracket modifications
triple gauge panels and bracket modifications
Does anyone have pics of the modification to the radio bracket necessary to get the deeper gauges to fit with the triple gauge pods? The far right gauge in my setup is still not seated properly because ive been too lazy to figure out how much I need to trim or unbolt to get it to sit flush.
Ok I figured it out.
Instead of removing the bracket completely, because I still have the radio in the lower din, I bent the metal part of the bracket out of the way. I did this in the odd case I wanted to go back to stock, and returning it to normal is just a matter of bending it back.
To be able to bend the bracket out of the way there is a screw above the screw holes that hold the radio into the bracket, but inside the console itself. This screw is easily accessed if you remove the glove box. Once you get that screw off it is just a matter of moving the bracket out of the way and taking the dremel to the remaining plastic. I found I could take enough material off for the gauges to fit, but was able to leave the screw holes and the post intact.
