Input on rear axle removal?
I need to replace my right rear drive axle. Once i get the wheel, caliper, brake, wheel hub off... do i need anything to remove the axle from the rear diff. I seem its almost too easy for it just to pull out of the diff. is there any special way to take it off? any additional advice appriciated!
thanks
thanks
Nope..yes, it is that easy. Just be aware it will spew out a bit of diff oil and make sure it fully seats when you reinstall...give it a bit of a turn until it slips back in all the way.
Cheers,
Cheers,
I am just replacing an axle (broken tone ring for ABS). Does the clip come out with the axle? When reinstalling the axles, did you not replace the clip? Any damage to the gear oil seals when pulling out the axle with the clip still on it?
I know...LOTS of questions :]
Thanks in advance for the help.

hey how did you make out with that axle? did you have to unbolt any of the suspension or arms to get it out? I have the all that you mentioned done and unbolted that lower bolt from the strut. Anything else before I proceed? thanks
