HELP!! Will this Defi gauge even work?????

Okay, I bought this boost gauge and control unit from a Vendor on this forum. After I received it, upon further inspection I found that some hardware appeared to be missing. The Vendor claimed it was in excellent condition, complete (but used) etc. I've never used a Defi BF gauge before, so I don't know what else should be included, but it does appear that something is missing.

My problems

I only have two wires, one of which is obviously for the boost gauge. The other....???? No power source wiring?? WTH!?

Boost Gauge will not stay in mounting cup. There is a considerably big gap between the edge of the mounting cup and the actual gauge. If you tip it forward, the gauge falls right out. The cup cannot be tightened to keep the gauge in, just to adjust the viewing angle.

The seller claims 3M double sided tape is how Defi keeps this gauge mounted. I kinda doubt that a $200+ gauge uses 99 cent tape to keep it held to a dashboard, steering column, etc. Looks like something else goes onto the bottom of that mount.

I could go the other route and not use the mounting cup......however.... If I try to mount it in my 60mm Gruppe S panel, I can't because there is no bracket behind the gauge. Just a bald gauge.

I can't even screw the mounting cup to my steering column because it's too small to even fit a drill/screwdriver in there. The tip of a pen won't fit in there.

I can't even check to see if the control unit works or not. Normally I wouldn't question it but considering how everything else is who knows?

Am I retarded? This won't work, right??

Should I be asking for a refund? What would you do??

You are just missing the boost wire & T fitting.

Boost wire is in the first picture. Why won't the gauge stay in the cup?? So when I hit a left on the track my gauge is supposed to fall out and swing back and forth under my steering column?

There is supposed to be a small foam strip that goes around the gage to snug it up in the cup.

from what i see you're missing,

Vacum line - which can be purchased from autozone.
T- connector - same thing.

which is no big deal, BUT the most importat thing you're missing is Boost Sensor/pressure sensor.

Btw, here's the defi installation: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=98114

-I would contact the seller and ask him for the sensor, maybe he forgot to ship it with the gauge. the other wire is just for power/ground/lights which you plug into the gauge.

You see, I don't have the mounting bracket with little holes for screws like the instructions show. Look at how small my mounting bracket is compared to the pic in the instruction manual.

Okay so it does take 3M tape. I was wrong to assume that there was better technology than tape in a Defi gauge.
If that's the case I guess this gauge won't work in a Gruppe S triple gauge panel unless I "Ghetto tape" it, 3M style.

Boost sensor is in the first pic. I have that. I'm aware of the t-fitting and the vaccum lines. Thanks.

My other gauge had a U-shaped metal bracket with two screws to hold it into a Gruppe S triple gauge panel. This one has two screws, but no bracket across the back of the gauge.

You need to find someone who didn't use the stock mount for their gauge and see if they will sell it to you.

I knew it!!! I can't even put double sided tape on this little @$$ bracket. Not possible. I need one of those brackets. Thank you ak47po.

Ah I see now. It looks like whoever had this gauge before me broke off the extra material around the mounting bracket. So what the hell am I supposed to do now?
