Yes, all the rear badges are adhered on.
AFAIK, the "Evolution VIII" badge for the rear is only in UK. They are stopping that. If you guys need some, just tell me. I regularly get shipments from aftermarket manufacturers in England and once in a while we usually add a few things for each other on the shipments that we need.

Who wants one; just email me. If I have an idea on the demand I'll have them send over a slew of them.

In my experience of de-badging, a heat gun will speed up the process quite a bit and then I would use fishing wire to get the emblems off and then either Simple Green or a bug/tar remover of some kind, like everyone else has mentioned. Just make sure the glue is not hard at all or you will leave some scratches in your paint!

The front bumper badge does come off. It is installed with three small locating pins and regular tape (like the rear badge tape. Infortunately it is installed in a depression in the bumper so you can still somewhat see it. If you take it off, it won't be as noticeable but it's still there.

Hey all, just removed my "Lancer Evolution" badging last night for my euro badge. Here's how I did it:

(note that the temps were in the high 40's outside, so that glue was hard as a rock)

1) get a heat gun or hair dryer. mildly heat up the badging, one word at a time.

2) pry from the bottom of the badge upwards, using your fingernails as a grip on the edge. Nice and slow and easy, don't wanna send the thing scraping up your trunk.

3) repeat for "evolution" badge, but you may have to reheat it as it is large and will cool quickly.

(if you have residual glue left over, follow step 4)

4) heat up the residual glue and gently rub it off the surface of the trunk, kind of like rubber cement it will ball up and can be picked off. Takes a while, so be patient. One letter at a time!

5) apply GooGone or lighter fluid or whatever you want from the above posts in this thread to a soft cloth and gently rub the glue residue off the trunk in a straight back-forth motion horizontally. This reduces swirl marks and allows for a concentrated pressure area. Don't rub too hard, light elbow grease and a bit of time takes it all right off.

That's about it. Wash that spot (hell, your whole car) after using any solvent.

just ordered the UK badge....couldn't resist anymore!!

I think I have the steps down for removing the badges cleanly.
However...I waxed my car a few weeks ago with a very durable wax. Collinite #476S to be exact.

I dont feel comfortable placing a near 100 dollar badge on top of the wax though. Should I use a cleaner of some type to remove the wax first?

Any recommendations on a wax remover?

thanks,
