YOu have to trim the plastic to fit this short shifter kit?

That's kind of ridiculous. Is there a better short shifter kit out there?

And btw, $180 for a shift knob?! I can get a Momo steering wheel for about $40 more than that!

Hi,

Thanks for your posts. Does anyone know how the stock
shifter compares to the shifter in the Evo 6 in terms of throw
length?
I live in Australia, and am waiting for the Evo 8 to be released
here. I have driven my Dad's EVO 6 (Makinen Edition) and the
shifter in that is just heavenly (very short & fast).

Can anybody who's driven both the 6 & 8 compare the
shifters please?

Cheers,
Scott

i just installed the perrin short shifter today. there is a noticable difference in throw with a more positive feel to the shifts. it does however require a bit more effort to shift but i think a weighted shift knob will counteract this. (it worked on my Civic).

so you paid that much for the perrin shifter and still have to hack the shifter base so the cables clear the box without hitting?... :/

imo id just buy that ebay short shifter for around $30 shipped and it comes with base bushings.
