HEY GUYS, I'VE BEEN HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING A THREAD FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO INSTALL A PUSH START BUTTON. I KNOW MANY OF YOU THINK IT'S POINTLESS, BUT SO IS AN AFTERMARKET SHIFT KNOB. IF ANYONE KNOW'S HOW TO INSTALL, OR HAVE A SITE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THANKS!

Great and all, but there's no instructions, just other people posting pictures of ones they've done.

shift knobs do serve a purpose... getting a good grip and adding some wieght helps u shift faster which will help with lag.

That makes or breaks a race

You guys are all right about the shift knobs. i have a greddy counter weight shift knob myself. maybe i need to rephrase. what i really meant was there's many evo owners who see the push start button useless, but so do hundreds of different accessories we put on our cars that doesn't serve a purpose, except to only serve our own personal style. Thanks Tsurugi-san for the tip. I dont think i've typed that under search yet and thank you guys for all your response. If you anyone has come across this topic, please attach address. thanks

I think the start button would only be worthwhile if you can keep the key in your pocket(or nearby) to start the car.

he is asking for a "how to" not your preference ..

I have no actual instructions, but I know you will be disconnecting an ignition wire and looping it throught the button.. I would assume..

Meh. He posted in all caps too, which I think is kinda stupid, so what's your point?

Whats my point?? My point is he wants a HOW TO, not your preference!!! Your idea "pmpn8ez" would make the most sense, but he is asking a question of how to do it, not would this make sense.. All caps is annoying, I give you that. And for everyone stating how a counter wieght shift knob is a useful item is true.. HOWEVER, he stated an aftermarket shift knob! Nothing about a weighted knob. Either way he hasnt come back to this post, so he must looking into louder bov!!

This might actually be kind of cool - but how would you do it? Doesn't Mitsu have a chip in your key or something similar?

I just got my Engine start button in the mail --- thanks to Japanparts.com --- and it's genuine Mitsu, so it comes with installation instructions in Japanese. The wiring diagrams seem pretty straightforward, but the mounting template is definitely for a RHD evo. I'll be hitting up the local install shops to see who wants to have a crack at it.

I'll let you guys know how everything turns out, and hopefully provide some detailed help in the process.

Do you have a link to the Mitsu one?

I found it on Japanparts. Definitely post up when you install it!
