Question How to install the HTA 35R

So, I've been looking all over and I can't get the right "how to" on replacing my turbo for the HTA 35R. So Does anyone know where I can find it? I know its not hard to do, but I just want to make sure I get it done right, the first time. Any help?

Also, what if I don't get my car tuned for another month or so, I was told keep the boost at 14 or under. Is that cool too? Thanx

the hta35r is not a bolt on turbo, I'm assuming you bought a turbo kit? AMS, buschur, ets etc sell the kits, they should come somewhat pre-assembled or have directions on how to install.

Yep, got the kit and the race IC. I'm just not sure about priming the turbo and that sort of stuff. It just doesn't have the instructions or a how to, know what I mean?

what kit do you have?

you should get your car tuned as soon as possible even @ 14 psi. do it as soon as you can. the car will drive it just will drive like garbage.

look for tutorials for:

removing the radiator and properly draining/filling it.

10.5 hotside install (alternative way, where you remove the manifold)

oil change

UICP install

what arent you confident in doing? narrow it down a little so we can try and help you solve problems.

Not that I'm not confident, just that I don't want to break anything. I'll be doing the replacement today, drive to Miami tomorrow, change the injectors and fuel rail, then I hope to tune it by saturday.

ISSUES!!! I had to bend the water lines for them to fit... Second Issue, the turbo exhaust will not line up with the downpipe (its a perrin), another issue, one of the oil lines doesn't come with an adapter for the oil line from the engine block... I'll see if I can get some way to get that adapter at my local autozone... then I'll try to make the downpipe fit... and I have some parts shaped like an L... and I have no clue where they go... Fun times!

So yeah, I got the kit installed, I had some parts missing, but I adjusted. Got the missing donut bolt for the oil line, and got the O2 welded on the exhaust side. The problem was... My brother is an Idiot, and forgot to tell buschur I'm not running a standalone. So there... then this is where Lowes comes in to play. I have the HKS instake, but the turbo side is like 2in and the HTA35R is like 3 1/4 or 3 1/2, so I adjusted again... I got a 3in rubber coupling and 45 degree plumbing elbow, forced it all in, tightened it all... and Viola, my car is up and running, the problem now... I have a vacuum hose from the HKS EVC that I have no clue where it goes, it came off the hotside on the old turbo, but now I don;t know what to do with it. Ok Off to Miami to get it tuned, lets hope and pray my car doesn't die.
