help with CAI install

ok i went thru this whole area looking for anything and didn't find it...i want to find out how to install the CAI. i took out the box easily today, but when i went to stick the filter on the end, i kept eyeing up the MAS from the box and the cable going to the sensor...im sure someone has swapped this a few times...what to do with the wire for the MAS if its needed at all...please help...thanks

Read the manual enclosed with your CAI purchase will really help.

In additional, if you can provide more info on which CAI you are installing, it will help member at this forum to help you.

there was no manual with this one, it is more or less a universal breather made to be less restrictive than our box...so any help or ideas ? what do other manuals say

Most CAI install :-
Removed air filter box from the car.
Seperate MAS sensor from the air filter box.
Attach the MAS sensor to your new filter.
Reinstall your new assembly back to the car.
Reattach all cable.

that makes sense thanks...but a whole lot of bit confused on how to connect the evo 8 mas to new filter...any ideas ?

Get a air filter that will fit the mas sensor or you can also try to fabricate your own adapter.

If you still have problem, call an online vendor and order a CAI that fit your car. Choose your brand.

i am waiting for the one to be released from aem but intil then i bought a little cheap filter...but i guess i wont be able to use it

AEM already release the CAI for Evo 8. If you search the forum, you find many vendors selling it.

Personally, I'm using HKS intake kit.

Ditch the cheap filter and get a good one.
