Help Replacing Wastegate Actuator WGA

Do I need to remove the radiator in order to get to the WGA? For those who replaced or upgraded their WGA, is it pretty straight forward? Any tips or advise would be much appreciated! Thanks.

It would make it much easier to get to if you removed the radiator. You could also take the turbo assembly out and drop it down, just undo the hotside to manifold bolts and drop the downpipe and turbo assembly down and take it out. Taking out the rad is just as easy though.... Look for yourself, you can see how hard those bolts are to get a good hold on, if you try and squeeze in there you are just asking for bent fins on the back of your radiator. Take the time and do it right...

There are really no tricks to swapping it out, either. Just take it off and be careful not to bend the WGA rod if it is being replaced...

uninstall: upper pipe, entire intake, side fan, -drain coolant from radiator - 10mm plastic screw use 10mm socket, on left side if you stand in front of your car, take radiator out...

(2) 12mm bolts that hold wga.

i think best way to replace wga, easy and clean.

install everything back in, fill the coolant up top, with cap off, start the car , ones u see coolant going up , shut the car , add more coolant, snap cap back in,

done.

My friend just removes it from underneath its a lot easier, nothing else to remove and takes about 10 mnutes. Just jack up the front (if you need to) and have at it.

I have removed the wastegate off my car many times and never had to remove the radiator or any other parts other than the wastegate.

The trick is you need a swivel head rachet. If you don't have one I would get one. It makes the job much easier.
