Installing Ingall Dampner??

Questions to who had installed an Engine torque damper on Evo VIII/IX before, cant find this as re-post by search.

I recently picked up an Ingall Dampner from another forum member, it looks pretty easy to install but few questions I'd to ask before I open my tool box. Since I am removing the front strut bar to put dampner kit. I always get the impression that the car must be jacked up before removing the strut bar and put back together.

Question is am I dreaming? Or it doesnt really matter that the car is jacked up or not.

If I do not jack up the car and remove the strut, do I have to re-do my alignment?
