the black connector behind the cig console really IS a pain in the blow hole!

great writeup...i bought the orbital kit when the only one available was the black grain finish. im planning on painting the kit to resemble the stock upper bezel, but wasnt sure how to do it.

was the feel and touch of your finished piece similar to that of the stock piece? if so, im gonna do this next week. Thanks.

You can prime/sand the orbital and finish it any way you like. With sanding and proper paint it could be an exact match to the stock metal-grey one. Ill post finished pics when I get the chance.

ON THE 5 SPEED ...How do you remove the Plastic Shifter Ring or is it necessary??
