Tint removal issue
Tint removal issue
OK.. So I decided to remove all the tints that came with the car for god know how long. I managed to get all windows off but because theyre old as hell now my windows are sticky they left an aweful gluey residue all over the windows from the cheap tints the previous owner installed. Any products to recommend?? I know there must be something. And thanks for the help guys.

Spray window cleaner, like the type you get in a can on the windows and start scraping across with a small razor. You'll see the glue film start to come off and just keep doing this and when you're done give the windows a nice clean wipe down, it should work. Thats how I've done it. Just be careful of the rear cause of the defrost grid!
Goof off! or Goo gone are also great products

When we remove it at our shop we use steam, but if we have to do it they way you are doing it, we use simple green and a razor blade. Messy as hell but it works. Make sure you don't take the razor blade to your rear window though, it is very likely that you will ruin you rear defroster with the razor blade.
Most tint will leave glue behind. That does not mean it's bad tint....
All you need to do is spray it with soapy water and use a razor blade. Use a scraper with razor blade to make it easier on your hands. As long as you soak the window and get the glue nice and wet it will come off with a little pressure. Takes mayb 20 min per window to remove everything.
I just did that when I removed my old tint and installed 5%. 2 sides of the 5% came scratched up so I redid it. I can proly say I'm a pro now lol.
If you plan on re tinting it..visit northerntint.com for precut high quality tint. I went with the best they had and it camr out to 50$ for all side windows and a sun strip. Great price and fits like a glove

I ended up using windex and razor blade it worked just fine..
but I think i slashed the hell out of the rear windows defroster LOL. I scraped excess tint from over the orange lines I dont think theres any way around it ur still gonna have tint on the defroster lines..
