I purchased my evo 3 weeks ago with a broken antenna. It appears that the previous owner had already tried to drill and extract the remaining part of the antenna. Unfortunately for me it appears it was a failed attempt as the antenna base is mangle and unusable. I searched but could not find any solid information or tips on how to replace the antenna base. I am aware the it bolts in from the inside of the car but I am concerned about breaking the clips that hold the pillars and roof liner in. Can anyone give me some pointers. It would be greatly appreciated!
