Removing antenna on roof

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone has a DIY on how to remove the antenna on the roof? Can it be done on the outside or does it need to be done by removing the headliner? Please let me know. Thanks in advance!

I'm assuming your reffering to the black box, not just the antenna, if so, you will need to remove your headliner to get at it.

Yes, and You need to remove your left rear wheel first, and possibly your exhaust...

Just unscrew your old one and screw the new one on

Did you figure it out? I'm pulling my Sirius and its antenna (the bulky base on the roof) out this weekend (hopefully) so if you're still in need I can snap some pictures for you. Let me know.

There's a cover at the base of the antenna remove it and there will be two screws holding it in the only problem if you remove it this way and don't replace it there will be a hole in the finder.

Is it imperative that you remove the headliner to do the install? I thought most VGs go on or around the stock antenna. Removing the headliner is a pain and should be avoided if possible.

But if you need to remove it, you need to remove the oh sh*t handles, the sun visors, and pop loose the tops of the A and C-pillars if I remember right.

im not too sure. i hope not that would make it alot easier. I decided on not getting it because of the whole process of removing headliner. If anyone could spread some light that would be much appreciated.
