Lancershop Intake problems?

Needless to say I was not satisfied with the instructions included in the Lancershop intake I ordered. Installing the intake per lancershops instructions leaves the intake flopping in the breeze. Sooner or later this will rub a hole into the underside. For the time being I zip-stripped the intake in place.

Here is the mystery I have all the parts listed on the parts list including a bracket about 5 inches long with a half inch hook on the end. I suppose this item is supposed to be used to bracket it to the frame, but I cannot figure out where or how? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Andrew

I sent a email request for help on Monday or Tuesday and still they haven't given me any information besides that they are forwarding this request on to their Cheif tech or something.

Does anyone know of a how to for this intake?

Thanks

Why lancer shop why?!?!

I got my K&N filter from them, is that what you got? They say it fits a Evo which is true but they bother to tell you it is really for a 99 Eclipse! I tossed the bracket it came with and made my own.

They told me it was not a K&N filter. The filter I recieved came with a ractek or rectech sticker. I still haven't heard from lancershop about the placement of the bracket. Could you post a picture of what you did? I wouldn't think it would be that hard, I just might give it a go today. Problem is that its -20 degrees and snowing here.

Also where did you anchor your custom bracket?

Thanks All!

Here is a pic. I bent the stock mounting point a little bit and used it.

Where did you secure the mounting bracket to? I am going to try and fabricate something that will connect to the bottom two bolts on the MAF and the two mounting points on the frame. The people at masterminds told me the bracket they sent mounts under the intake and that it is not needed. Then why would they even bother sending it? I will post the pic that they send me as soon as they decide to help me out.

I am not at all impressed with masterminds tech support. Should it take two weeks to get a pic and the right directions for installing a simple air intake?

I fashioned a bracket that connects to the original intake bracket location on the intercooler intake pipe and connected it to the screw on the MAF. I used a piece of aluminum 1/8" thick and an inch wide. The filter has no chance of moving anymore. Thanks for the help!
