How to import an Evo IV to the US
I hear you. It is hard to find someone to do that. When I asked a few friends about how they got their RHD vehicles. I got the answer saying they bought it from someone who had it registered. And it makes me think if it was legit or not. But seriously man good luck. Wish I could take my IV back to the states but I dont see that happening. I dont have the money to go through a RI
If you need parts you can do a cross reference with the part number. Or order from Japan, Canada, and the UK
bull**** , you can go in to the dealer and order parts, mitsi asa has more than usdm models listed . they were never sold in ireland either but my main dealer can get me any part i require , from japan if necessary , same for all earlier models evo 1- 6 .

Let me know how much he will charge you for everything. You know all the things it will cost or need to make it Street legal in the US. Probably would have to pay to ship from WA to Illinois for me. lol
Ireland is a bit different than the US. Most Auto Part stores wont order Jap parts unless the car can be bought in the US. Trust me I have tried. You would have to do a cross reference on the part numbers. So parts can be a pain to get sometimes.
mitsi dealer will be able to get them if he wanted to , hit them with part numbers then theres no excuses
Thats why I said you have to come up with a part number. If they dont have that part number for USDM then they wont be able to get it for you. For example. If you put the part number in for the Evo IV front rotors Nothing will come up as a match. So the dealer wont get it for you. You would have to order from Japan or the UK yourself.
Well GL, I personally see no reason why to bring a IV to the states, I enjoyed mine while in Japan then sold it. Now if you had a rare TME or something of "collector" value, I'd say go for it. You are going to be spending alot of money and it still won't be "legal", trust me, I have a few friends who brought GTRs back from Okinawa. One is driving around but cost $10k+ to get it there. Other paid $5k+ to get the car stateside, but is still sitting in storage unable to drive around.

Exactly, I had to do the same for my JDM 3rd gen 3sgte MR2. You can get parts if they are still made, but they are more expensive and come from overseas. Nothing is stocked in the US. Those cars are 15+ years old, its not gonna be easy getting parts in the states.
