Question evo turns off when step on the gas

Hey people this my first post.i just found out how so yeah lol
Well i got an evo 8 no engine no transmission, i had so many troubles but its better now. Its all together, installed and turns on. Now the problem is that when i turn it on sometimes i have to step on the gas or else it turns off. Thats that but i toke it out for a drive just to feel it and see what else needs to be done. I start driving n it dosent respond it like jumps and another thing when it goes little over 3000 rpm it just dosent accelerates. Now i turn it on n i step on the gas and in turns off but if i let go before it does, it stays on normal.
Car has 272 cams evo 9 turbo and pretty much it not many mods. If anyone can help me out plz ill appreciate it.

did the car have the stock ecu on when you bought it? could be the tune, but before anything, I would check the Intercooler piping and clamps for tightness, the evo having a MAF can not function properly if there is a leak after the mass air flow sensor, so it kinda goes into limp home mode, check and let us know.
