Yea, turboDan and I got it straight at Pruven.

Regardless, if you keep tension on the belt, it wont jump a tooth on either the crank, balance shaft, oil pump gears.

yup I def cringed when I read that. Another ghetto way to turn the engine is to put the car in 5th gear and push the car. That's a trick I did on my integra when doing valve adjustments, cams/cam gears install. It was much easier than jacking up the car and getting to the crank bolt. I didn't do the cams myself on my Evo tho, didn't want to risk screwing it up on a 30k car that's practically brand new.

First time for me was around 3 hours on a IX cams. The IX intake cam can add another 30 minutes while figuring things up on the install of the intake side.

It is an VIII, so make sure that you replace all gaskets to prevent leaks! Torque to specs is crucial!

first time installing my cams took me a couple days. i wasn't working straight through though. i had to go to work and i also had to drive to autozone because i needed a socket. i think if i worked straight through it probably would've taken me around 6 hours. the hardest part for me was undoing the exhaust cam gear bolt. that thing is on there tight!
