Easiest is to use an aftermarket fuel rail that has a 1/8 NPT outlet already there. Next would be a fuel pressure regulator or coupling (if using AN hose). Both those would also come with a 1/8 NPT outlet.
On a purely stock system I am not sure what the best way would be. Maybe use the AN coupling and some AN/barb adapters to go in the middle of the stock fuel line.

hey r6bruin,

this is what i did.

i bought the ultimate-racing fuel gauge adapter for the evo from adam at www.z1auto.com. this has the 1/8 NPT fuel port for the sensor.

http://www.ultimate-racing.com/Produ...eAdapter.shtml

it takes about 20-30 min to install on a cold engine evo.

or you can get the PERRIN fuel rail that has the 1/8 NPT fuel port for the sensor.

http://www.perrinperformance.com/Pro.../Fuel_Rail.htm

DO NOT DO WHAT THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL SAYS AND CUT THE FUEL LINE AND PUT A T ADAPTER!!!!!!!

hope this helps.

I don't have time for a write up, nor is it that hard.

Pruven sells an adaptor which is connected inline to the front of the fuel rail. The Defi sender can be installed on the top port. The Pruven adaptor has 1/8 NPT ports, while the Defi sender is 1/8 PT (different pitch and thread angle). They will work together, but its not the best solution. Mine is installed with a normal amount of teflon tape for sealing and I have not had any issues to date (about 4 months now). One note, the factory fuel return line has to be bent slightly out of the way to accomodate the adaptor.

The wire harness can then be run along the factory harness with the injectors and back to the firewall on the passenger side where there is a hole. It will reach a control unit mounted on the center console no problem.

I can try and post some pics if anyone would like some.

John
