Thanks, that's really helpful. BTW, I really like that upper IC pipe, where did you get it? Also, what is that BOV?

Thanks,

Thanks,
That is a Buschur Racing upper IC pipe feeding into a Magnus Motorsports sheet metal intake manifold. The BOV is a Tial, and if you have converted to speed density and no longer need to recirculate your BOV I highly recomend the Tial.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is'nt the can just a glorified crankcase breather? By mounting it higher, don't you keep more oil in the motor where it's supposed to be? Should oil that is blown by be expelled? Just curious.
Cheers,

Cheers,
In a normal setup the oil that comes out of the valve cover is sucked into the intake, through the turbo, throught the intercooler, throught the throttle body, throught the intake manifold, and then finally into the combustion chamber where it is burned. Along that path, it leaves oil deposits on EVERYTHING. The intercooler heat transfer efficiancy is measurabally degraded by this oil film.

When I first switched over to the Buschuar intake I used a crank case breather filter and it pretty much put an oil film on my hood, firewall, strut tower brace, and transmission. That is why I chose to go with a catch can, my engine bay was filthy from the oil film.

About level works OK, it is the people who have the hose running upwards that usually have a problem.

My MAF is sitting behind me right now as I type this I have the AEM EMS stand alone and have converted to speed density.

Did a search to revive this thread looking for info on the GReddy catch can I bought.

I took the can to my engine to see where it ought to go.

This is where I'm planning to mount it. Unless anyone with a 4G94 found an easier better location.

Catch Can Location

Here's a shot from the GT8 show on the 4th of this month. March Seich had his MR set up with a nice fab'd thick aluminum bracket.

wow big pic... 1. the oil that we get in the intake or catch can is more of a thick vapor than just oil.. 2. if you look in my red pics link youll see i mounted mine under the air cleaner, and these is a couple of bolts down there already so you wont have to drill..
