Gauge/Profec B electronic install - help needed
Gauge/Profec B electronic install - help needed
I just got my Defi D series gauges a little while ago
and have been busy installing them in. I got gauges for boost, EGT, temp. (coolant), oil press., fuel press., and air/fuel. I had no real problems yet that I couldn't figure out. However, I do have a couple problems/questions and was hoping someone can verify it for me.
I tapped all my gauges, which required a ground, 12V, ignition, and illumination wire, to the radio harness, since everything I need is right there. When tested the gauges, they seem to work fine. However, along with my gauge installation, I was also installing my Greddy Profec boost controller. I tapped the 12V and the ground that my EBC also to the radio harness. For some reason, my EBC won't power up and yes, I did hold the "select" button for 2 secs
.
So I backtracked my wiring; maybe I tapped something wrong. Then I noticed that my Kenwood radio isn't powering up either, and neither are my dome lights. This is getting weird
. So I checked my taps and my fuses. Weird thing is, the fuses in the driver side compartment is missing the two fuses for the radio and dome light. Is that suppose to be missing
?
Also, the fact that I tapped 6 gauges and my EBC to the radio harness, could it be that I'm drawing too much from the harness and it's causing my radio to not power up? I tested the voltage going into the radio and it's only .5V
.
So recap:
1. I tapped my 6 gauges and my EBC to my radio harness. I think it should be ok, but someone please verify for me.
2. The radio and dome light fuse are missing in the driver side fuse box (bottom row; 3 fuses are missing, 2 of them are the radio and dome light). Is it supposed to be missing?
3. Also, if someone point me to a link/picture with the radio harness diagram, that would be great. I could have tapped my wires wrong, so I want to make sure.
Thanks! Any info would be greatly appreciated!
