Why do you buy the stripped down version, then add everything that the regular has? I see from another post that you are (or did) adding a radio. Look at your sig. It should answer you own question about making a mistake.

bump!

there is nothing wrong with putting a few creature cumforts back in. the RS has a lower ratio box than the GSR and to buy one of those (be it second had or new) will cost more than to put stuff into a RS.

this as if you read the guys sig you would see that he lives in outer space so weight will not effect him (only mass) LOL. im sorry only kidding!

Chris.

Actually dude, I like limited slip front differentials, that's why I bought the RS. I sell some Ralli Art products, and the list price for a limited slip front diff is like three grand or so.

The LSD from Quaife is supposed to be around $1100. Besides, the 05 GSR will have front LSD and ACD. I guess I just figured people would buy the RS as a light-weight version. Hence, adding all the stuff back would negate the point of getting the RS in the first place. I was just trying to tell you that you would be making a mistake, since you asked for someone to tell you that .

WELLLLLL the Quaife LSD is a sure fire warranty voider. The Ralli Art unit is probably a little safer as far as warrranty issues go, and it really is around 3k. The RS for me was a good light weight alternative to the ES, but thinner sheet metal aluminum hood lack of sound deadening will still be there. I don't think it will cost nearly as much as the difference in price between the ES and the RS to put some power windows in...

I am sure you can do it, but unless you can find a wrecked evo from which you can get the door panels, window motors, and switches, it'll be expensive. Maybe there's an aftermarket you can look at? THe switches will be ugly but it'll be in keeping with the raw nature of the RS.

There are plenty of wrecked EVOs that are being parted out....it's just a matter of running the wires, there's nothing in the RS doors!

What would those lower ratios be?

Is there an Evolution ES, or are you referring to the Lancer ES?

If you think the diff is a warranty voider ( and I agree it is) wait untill you start splicing wires. I can assure you, any dealer will not even try to get Mitsu to pay for any sort of electrical problem you may have in the future. It is aslo going to cost you bank, even if you get door motors n stuff from a wrecked Evo. The RS may or may not have a wire harness ( wire gauge thickness ) that can support power windows. The GSR has all sort of power items that the RS is lacking that would absolutley warrant a different harness at the factory, just to save money. My being that it makes little sense to me. Just my opinion hommie.

Funny part is I have a standard EVO, and I would get rid of the A/C and power windows in a second..
