So far I have yet to use my fog lights. I'm actually thinking about drilling them out and turning them into brake cooling duct intakes...

has anyone tried the advanced optik hid match bulbs?? seems pretty respectable in the german motorsports community. i have upgraded to the 6000k philips ultinon bulbs in the wifes 04 lexus is300 and what a difference. will be doing the headlight upgrade in the evo with the same bulb soon. i was also looking at changing the foglight bulb as well without burning up things as some of you have mentioned.

http://www.europeanautosport.com/optik.htm

i changed my high beams to the 9005 ion yellow 6000k bulbs. excellent for foul weather. all our cars get the ion yellow high beam treatment. they are great looking far away-bright yellow. once the car gets closer they become a yellowish, purpleish, white light. it is like the PIAA ion foglights.

anyways, i can post pics if someone emails a "how to" =-}

I'd like to see some pics, you can email them to me at eclipsegs2k1@hotmail.com if you want to. Anyways, I have the foglight bulbs from europeanautosport.com and they are fine! I don't run them most of the time, but they look MUCH better than stock and I've been happy with them.

I have the AdvanceOptik HID match fogs and high beams. They work great. They are whiter than the stock HIDs. I've had them installed since early Feb, and I've had no problems.

I'd stay away from anything higher than 55w. The stock rating make the headlight housing pretty hot already.

evotoo, the link up a few posts has yellow fog bulbs too.

I bought some 80w Super Whites and have been pretty happy with them for about 4 months now. I use them during my daily commute about 2 hours total each day and they are holding up. Have not had any issues with the 80w vs 55w rating. The wiring is fine...thus far, no melting or blown fuses. For the price $30.00... I can't complain.

Very white... and color is very close to stock hids. The stock fogs look TERRIBLE (yellow) compared to stock HID color.

I am waiting for YELLOW H11's from Japan and will post pics after install....

FYI... after reading previous threads... it appears all other H11 yellows sold by europeanautoparts and supremeautoparts are not very yellow.....just wanted to share what I have read.

you people do realize that they are a different color than your HIDs for a functional reason... the lower color temp will cut through fog/rain/snow much better than some color as warm as your low beams. Don't believe me? test it for yourself - use them on a clear night and notice little difference, then try them in the rain and notice the the bulbs that were useless before are now more effective than your HIDs... but alas, some people just don't get it.

OK. I've had stock bulbs on before, and I've had factory fogs on other cars. IMHO, they were pointed too low to help my visibility. Except for those searching for yellow ion, many just want something which match the HID color. Personally, I think stock yellow fogs look tacky with HIDs (a la many luxury SUVs).

I can't remember which company it was, this one or the other in the old thread on the subject... either way I bought the fogs and high beams. The fogs have performed flawlessly for over a year. I only got the 55w I believe. However, they are just blue tinted bulbs. I pulled the high beams out immediately because as soon as I stepped back, I noticed that the blue tint reflected in the housing making the whole high beam appear blue when not on.

The Yellows I bought and should have by this Saturday are made by VESTEC.

If you google "vestec h11" you should find information about the bulbs. Though, I could not find any US retailer importing them so I asked a relative in Japan to send them over for me.

There was a thread from one other member on these boards who purchased them and was happy with them...though to date I have not seen any example pictures with them illuminated.

I understand where you are coming from.... I don't have an arguement over funtionality.... In my case I am looking for more FORM over FUNCTION.......
