Istalling upper and lower ICP
Istalling upper and lower ICP
I am about to order the injen upper and lower intercooler piping and im wondering if i would be able to do this myself. Also i want a BOV...how hard is that?
it is very easy to install..shoud be able to get done in under and hour with simple hand tools ( 8mm socket for the clamps, 10mm for front bumper nuts, flat head and phillip screw drivers, needle nose plier should do the job). pm me for any info u need. C
You really dont need a BOV, considering you have a 9. But to answer your question i have the UICP and the intake and i installed those within 2 hours. Hard part is takeing everything apart and putting it back together like your front bumper, stock ICP, airbox etc.
since ur a noob, u wont get it done in 30mins or even an hour as these people claim. it will be more like 3-5 hrs or since you'll be learning as you go.....maybe longer. now if u have someone who's done it before, it will cut your time to two hours.

It should take no more than 10 minutes to remove the undertray and front bumper. 20-30 minutes to take the upper intercooler pipe and intake off. Same amount of time to get the new ones on. Then another 10 minutes to put the bumper and undertray back on. This should be no more than 2 hours at the most. That is with you taking your time and making sure everything is on tight. Wouldn't hurt to boost leak test it either.

Ok listen. If its youre first time taking off the undertray DONT listen to these guys that say itl take 5-1o minutes. Youre gonna be searching for clips you missed and have ing a hard time with some ...realistically itl be like a half hour-ish. After that itl be a peice of cake whenever you remove it. Same goes for the front bumper cover. Thatl come off in 5 mins AFTER youve done it once or twice.
The first time I did it, I did an intercooler as well, took me around 4-5 hours, the undertray is annoying, 2 clips in particular. Once you loosen all clamps, you will spend an additional 30 minutes trying to maneuver the stock pipes out of the car...So around 30 for the tray 45 to remove the clamps, another 15 if you are reading from a guide. About 1 hour to remove the bumper for the first time, I swear you will think it is stuck on there/be scared to pull it off. Yeah, it takes a while. Took me 4-5 like I said, and about 30 of that was hanging the intercooler. The rest was all piping. Now I can do it all IC included in about 45 minutes, but why rush?
