help withdefi blue racer pillar pod installtion
Im trying to install the defi blue racer boost guage in a pilar pod. This guage has a wire for constant power, ignition, ilumination, and grounding. the only pilar pod installation i can find uses the wiring from the instrument dimmer switch and it was with the installation of the old defi boost guage that only had a power wire and ground wire. the other installation shows how to install the blue racer guages with the radio wiring harness, my wires will now reach from the pilar pod to the radio harness though, does anyone know by color what wires i should hook up to for ignition power and illumination in the dimmer switch, im totally stumped on this and i really need help. is there anyway to do this other that having to 3 more wires to string to the radio wire harness. someone please help me out, thanks in advance
I installed a small terminal board inside my gauge pod with points for power/gnd/rem/illum. Then I terminal lugged each indicator to the respected terminal. So when I remove my pod I only have to discon 4 terminal lugs from the car to the board and remove the sensor inputs from the back of the gauges. This would be a good idea in your case too, to keep the excess wires down. Anyway, you can tap the dim/illumination from the back of the radio, I believe it is the white wire. But look that up first.
Actually I have a radio harness bad holding some spare screws in my garage, and it has all the wires uses printed on it. Let me check.....
Illumination is Orange,
Dimmer is Orange/White
