Installation of Okada Project Plasma coils
Installation of these coils work basically like an OEM piece.
Necessary tools: 10mm socket and rachet
1. Unscrew negative terminal of battery (press brake pedal to drain power)
2. Unscrew the four 10 mm bolts for spark plug cover (black)
3. Take off ignition harness on either end (one on each side of the head)
4. Unscrew the bolts that attach the coils onto the head (3 per coil)
5. Pull coil / boots out like you would be changing spark plugs
6. With the boots attached to the coils turn boot to loosen and pull off
- be sure to pull the boot straight off.
7. Install boot to Okada project coils and reinstall.
Very simple installation, yet the benefits of this product is unbelieveable. We all know the evo ignition system is very weak in general, this bypasses the stock system.
REVIEW: I immediately noticed improvement in throttle response as well as improved torque. Engine noticably drives more smooth and power is immediatly realized when mashing the gas. Typically with ignition products you only see the benefits on a dyno, but with this product, I noticed an immediate improvement.
No more misfiring! One thought on this product... With other ignition products which use the existing coil, they deliver stronger spark, yet it still goes through the stock parts. This may actually kill your coils more quickly as the stocks are known to go bad at around 30k miles.
I hope this helps anybody who is considering this product.
